Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: Finished!

Every other day, Kali D'Angelo is a normal sixteen-year-old girl. She goes to public high school. She attends pep rallies. She's human.

And then every day in between...She's something else entirely.

Though she still looks like herself, every twenty-four hours predatory instincts take over and Kali becomes a feared demon-hunter with the undeniable urge to hunt, trap, and kill zombies, hellhounds, and other supernatural creatures. Kali has no idea why she is the way she is, but she gives in to instinct anyway. Even though the government considers it environmental terrorism.

When Kali notices a mark on the lower back of a popular girl at school, she knows instantly that the girl is marked for death by one of these creatures. Kali has twenty-four hours to save her and, unfortunately, she'll have to do it as a human. With the help of a few new friends, Kali takes a risk that her human body might not survive...and learns the secrets of her mysterious condition in the process.

Okay guys, so I've finally finished Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and it was such an intense, and thrilling ride, I was scared I was going to end up reading it too fast and missing something!
It was such a good read that I hardly ever put it down except to eat and sleep. Even from the beginning of the book, it was action packed. It definitely started off with a bang. Boy, can that girl FIGHT. There were some components in it however that sometimes got to me though. For one somethings in it were kind of predictable, and I was only really shocked a couple times. But when I was shocked, it was pretty mind blowing. Now I don't want to spoil the book for you guys seeing as it's not out yet, so bear with me. But, as for the things that got to me, for one, the romance. Now, if you know me, I am a TOTAL sucker for romance, but I'm also very picky about it. And the romance in this book was good, and it tied in with the plot pretty well, BUT I just found it kind of weird that it was just so suddenly jumped into. I understand how our lovely heroine, Kali, and her love interest would fall for each other so quickly because of the situation they're in, but it just seemed kind of random to me. Even though the romance was definitely believable, there was just something missing in it. Maybe you'll find out what that is once you read it.
Another thing, sometimes it can come off that Kali is a beyond harsh girl, but you have to understand the situation she's in. Like there's one part in the book where thinks something beyond heartless that I was kind of confused about, but then I thought about the fact of her whole life she's hasn't exactly raised around love her whole life. Her father is really disconnected from her, and she hasn't seen her mother since the age of three. So it's assumed she would have some problems with trusting people, and won't always come off as the loving one. But she is a warrior, a powerful one at that, and that's the kind of character I absolutely adore reading about.
Overall? The book was absolutely incredible. A read that was like riding an action packed, thrill seeking, hot roller coaster. It is most definitely a new favorite of mine, and I'll probably be rereading it until by galley expires. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
