Oh. My. Word. This book was just... wow. It was unexpected. It was dark. It was hilarious. And it was pretty darn sexy too. Now this hot book had me teetering on edge with worry at first. When I read the synopsis, I thought, "This is definitely something that I would read, but is it too dark for me?" HA. Boy did I have to eat my words. This book was amazing. It was one of those books that you read, and absolutely just can't put down. It kept me frustrated, and kind of impatient too. But not in a bad way. The way the building romance between Sasha and Jax works out is headache inducing to say the least. For one, Sasha is very hesitant to start a relationship with Mr. Tall Dark and Hellishly Deadly here. But, you would think him being a son of Hell and all, he would be all over anything to get with her. But he was so humble about it, and so patient. Even though it was eating him up inside to not just kidnap her, he held through. And the story line was so beautifully written, dark, light, and magical. It took my breath away. The mythology was written in a way I haven't seen in awhile. And the reason I believe it wasn't as dark as I thought it would be was all the humor in it. Sometimes Jax and his brother just act like regular teenage boys, and it kind of catches you of guard for a second. And there were so many unpredictable surprises in the book that happened that I didn't even want to believe at first.
Let's talk about some characters. Sasha is an Anabo. Meaning she doesn't feel the pull, the attraction towards temptation. No jealously. No hate. Nothing. Does this make her a sweet and likable girl by everyone? Yes. Does this make her a nun, or a goody two shoes? Oh no. You find that out after all the passion you witness in this book. Especially this one scene that I don't think I've ever seen anything like it in a YA novel. Or maybe I haven't just been reading the right ones. Cause, y'all. The romance was on FIRE.Then we've got Jax. Whew. Jax. What to say about him? He's dark and everything dangerous in the world, but when it comes to Sasha he's this sweet, caring, thoughtful, guy that any girl would dream about. I mean a bad boy with feelings? Oh yeah. I beyond loved this book. Recommend? I would buy the book for you. But since I can't, you can buy it here on Amazon. And read an excerpt here.
More books to come!
Love y'all!
